Shri Mahalasa Narayani at Basrur

Shri Mahalasa Narayani’s temple at Mandikeri in Basrur is situated on the banks of the scenic river Varahi.

Basrur, once a prominent trading town, is about 10 km from Kundapura town, in coastal Udupi district of Karnataka.

The spirit for the Mahalasa temple was derived from its Moolasthana, i.e. Mardol in Goa.

This temple is believed to be at least 450 years old and is similar to that of Shri Mahalasa Narayani temple at Mardol, Goa.
